from D-Zine's PR DJ biog:
DJ D-Zine, highly respected DJ,
recording artist and producer of the
renowned "Turntable Remixes" series, has been wowing partying crowds
with
his on point selections and mixes of the funkiest Hip-Hop, RnB and Club
Classix for over ten years and with his club work and live/band
experience
he takes his "show" to an exhillerating height.
D-Zine is one of that rare breed of DJ's, as anyone who has seen him
DJ'ing
will testify...HE'S AN ENTERTAINER!
Bringing his experience of performing on stage as a Turntablist and
Rapper
with bands/performers such as D*Note, Ute, The Hungry 5 Thousand, A1
People,
Snowboy, Jhelisa Anderson, Imaani, Cleveland Watkiss and more D-Zine
melts
into his sets with the single minded thought of entertaining the crowd.
He
plays his selections according to the flow of the people, mixing and
scratching up his favourite RnB and Hip-Hop pieces into a set that is
hard
to predict making it a very lively affair. with club classix from old
skool
RnB and Hip-Hop bumping shoulders with Bashment and classic Funk and
Soul
his sets sometimes feels like a journey into the Twilight Zone. AND just
as
you get used to his style one of his Turntable Remixes will freak your
eardrums, with the intro of one song leading into the vocals of another
throwing together the likes of Amerie with Sean Paul or Sunshine
Anderson
with Pharrell Williams or even Oasis with Dr Dre.
DJ'ing at some of London's top clubs like Trap, Herbal, Aquarium, The
End,
Red Cube, Sound, Denim, Corks and internationally rocking crowds across
Europe, the USA, Australia, Hong Kong and Japan, D-Zine's experiences
also
include DJ'ing at various festivals, Glastonbury, Reading, Phoenix,
London's
Urban Games, Denmark's Roskillde, Belgium's Dour and Spain's Vina Rock
Festival. He has even DJ'ed a Hip-Hop set as the support act for The
Creatures aka Siouxsie And The Banshees. Guest spots on Radio 1, XFM and
Kiss FM lead to him hosting his own radio show on Prime Time Radio and
co-hosting a show on Street FM.
Whether a 2 hour set or one of D-Zine's legendary 5 hour sets his
enthusiasm
for what he does never dips. He pushes his sets so far beyond a simple "RnB,
Hip-Hop" set, with his additions and sprinklings of Bashment, Ragga,
Funk
and Soul, and quite frankly, by his willingness and enthusiasm to add
whatever he feels will make the crowd move and/or sing-a-long. Often
seen
dancing and singing behind the decks you'd be forgiven for thinking he's
a
paying customer who gate-crashed the DJ booth ( see Gallery page on his
own
web-site for pictorial evidence ). HE LOVES IT!!
He says, " I don't play ALL the big tunes but i DO play ALL the big
tunes
that i like!"
Tim Irwin of DJ Mag wrote, " D-Zine cuts and scratches like a virtuoso,
clever, precise and always in tune with the music, rather than just
showing
off his skills for the sake of it."
