| At the age of
11, Owen got his first set of vinyl decks and spent countless hours
perfecting mixing skills and making mixes. After the breakthrough of Trance in 1999, a whole new world of music was introduced to Owen and his main influences were from DJs such as Ferry Corsten, Armin Van Buuren and Paul Van Dyk. Encouraged by his peers he began to put mix CDs together which proved very popular, selling in various shops across Northern Ireland, creating a buzz and a real interest in Owen’s particular music style. It was time to take it to the next level, to unleash this raw, new talent on to the dance music scene and well established clubs such as Club Soi, Portrush and Nation @ The Windsor, Bangor, among others, have opened their doors to support this new , fresh, talent. He has also received numerous bookings for 2009 already including 4M in Omagh with Kyau&Albert + Sied Van Riel. Owen was also featured in the "Ones to Watch" section of February 2009's M8 Magazine and was nominated for the FATE awards Northern Ireland Club DJ of the Year 2008. Modern influences from such DJs/Producers as Marco V, Deadmau5, Funkagenda and Sander Van Doorn are what has crafted Owen’s current style of Tech Trance/Techno/House, ensuring that each set is unique. As well as mixing on Serato which gives him the ability to change/edit tracks Owen has dived head first into in the world of digital music production where he quickly got to grips with Ableton and is now working on his own productions. Artists/DJs to support Owen's work so far include Ernest vs Bastian, Chris De Seed, Mandy Reid, Manuel Le Saux, Charlie G, Judge Jules, Cor Fijnemann, Tillmann Uhrmacher, hemstock + jennings, Dr Willis, Scot Project, Fabio Stein, DJ Choose Airwave + More Labels Owen has been signed to include Bonzai (Belgium), Redux (Germany), WA-X, Infexious Recordings, Ispirato, Stampgevaar Digital, Couture, Ecology, Underphunk and Soultech Owen has also been signed to the Divine DJs agency and the Banshee Worx DJ agency and is working on tracks for his new techno/electro/house label, Voodoo Digital. He also has a 2 hour weekly online radio show "Voodoo Sessions" every Tuesday between 2-4pm on www.citybeatradio.org showcasing both his production and mixing talents as well as occasional guest mixes from artists on the Voodoo Digital label and previews of forthcoming releases.
