My experience as a DJ,
started in Birmingham in 1980, where I played in various youth clubs
before moving to Leicester. I then began to DJ at venues in
Leicester and throughout the UK.
I am currently working as the resident DJ at The Glasshouse
in Leicester. My residency here is weekly on Friday nights & I am
resident fortnightly on Saturdays at Matishe playing house music as
well as guest appearances on specialist nights and bank holidays. I
am also the resident on a new event in Leicester called SOULFEEVA
which takes place monthly on Saturday & also another event created
by a group
of friends called SOULISM which specializes in broken beat, house &
fusion.
I have spent seven years on Community Radio and was a guest
presenter on BBC Radio Leicester, The Herdle White Show.
Previously I have had a regular slot on Leicester Carnival FM and
Juice FM.
My preferred music genre is predominantly house, but I play a range
of music including house (US & underground), garage (US & UK),
mainstream dance, soul, r & b, hip-hop and disco. Throughout my
career I've been able to collect and play 70's to present day soul
and disco (70's - early 80's). I also have a vast collection of
hip-hop (rap), house and garage music from the 80's to the present
day.

From 1984 I was one half of a
partnership called Classic Groove, DJ'ing at venues in the Midlands,
such as at Rock City, Nottingham and The Powerhouse, Birmingham,
London & Leeds guesting alongside Carl Cox, Tim Westwood, Graham
Park, Jazzy B to name a few. During this time we promoted all of our
own events at numerous venues in Leicester and throughout the
Midlands, under the name of Timezone Promotions.
I continue to team up with my
former partner to promote and DJ at 70's, 80's & 90`s music events,
which we call "Oldies Nights". ( Hi Lucas Promo. I hope this is
suitable & get me noticed again because it has been Really quiet on
the Dj front. Please check out three web site & choose a suitable
photo for my upgraded profile.) |
